The end of the world?

The Amazon Rainforest,

is the biggest tropical rainforest in the world,

but for the past few months,

the ‘Lungs of the planet’ don’t seem to be furled.

Due to climate change and dry season,

the Amazon has gone up in flames,

it’s time we get serious,

and stop playing these games.

It’s the same rainforest,

which used to be encompassed with harmonious voices,

and alluring animals,

which now lays in pieces.

Looks like we are to blame,

but no one is ready to agree,

soon it could be our time to suffer,

and Earth would turn into a debris.

The Amazon is called ‘Lungs of the planet’,

for a very special reason,

we want Mother Earth to keep us safe,

in every possible season.

Let us pledge to save the Amazon,

let us pledge to save animals & birds,

let us pledge to save ourselves,

let’s give our word…

We have lost 96,000 hectares of land in the Amazon rainforest. Let’s not make this problem escalate…

Hi! I am a 13-year-old currently studying in the Netherlands. For 5 years, I was studying in London and moved to India for some time in July 2019. First of all, I love playing the western flute and have been playing for quite a few years now. Playing and also, listening to music is definitely my passion. Some sports I enjoy playing are badminton, netball, swimming, football, cricket (these are the top 5!). Ok, so let’s talk about poetry. I wrote my first poem in a primary school in England and this inspired me to start writing poems on WordPress. Some of my recent poems are about global issues such as climate change, depression, bullying etc. Writing poetry is another passion of mine…so, check out my poems on WordPress. I don’t know what else I could say here so, hope you love my poems…..happy reading!!
