The heart.

‘What thing is most delicate?’

my teacher asked,

the classroom drowned into an ocean of silence,

and their heads dropped down.

‘The heart,’

she answers as she walked along the aisles,

‘with the sound of some words,

it can shatter into bits.’

A few minutes later she asks again,

‘Class, what thing is most strongest?’

still confused as to why she asks,

the class has no answers.

She answers yet again, saying

‘It is the heart,’

and everyone begins to shout,

‘Why, how, what?’

She takes a deep breath in and says

‘The heart- weakest because it shatters the quickest

known strongest because of its power to stand

after being pushed downward a million times…’

Hi! I am a 13-year-old currently studying in the Netherlands. For 5 years, I was studying in London and moved to India for some time in July 2019. First of all, I love playing the western flute and have been playing for quite a few years now. Playing and also, listening to music is definitely my passion. Some sports I enjoy playing are badminton, netball, swimming, football, cricket (these are the top 5!). Ok, so let’s talk about poetry. I wrote my first poem in a primary school in England and this inspired me to start writing poems on WordPress. Some of my recent poems are about global issues such as climate change, depression, bullying etc. Writing poetry is another passion of mine…so, check out my poems on WordPress. I don’t know what else I could say here so, hope you love my poems…..happy reading!!

    • I find myself to get inspired from some of rupi kaur’s poems (she is a Canadian poet)…some of her poems allow me to write similar to how she may write. Her choice of topics are great…you can go check out her poems and style of writing on Instagram!
