Black Lives Matter

Students portray Black Lives Matter movement in US and Brazil ...

Black people: amazing human beings

Loving the world and all its creatures

Always will be a friend to many

Casual, kind, humorous

Knowleageable in a unique way.

Losing loved ones, losing lives

In this world suffering due to racism

Voices unheard, on every street

Eventually turning to riots because of

Stolen rights.

Many now know of George Floyd

And what his fellow people are doing for him

Today they are supporting him

Today they are fighting for him

Each person wishes for his soul to rest in peace

Rest in peace George Floyd, rest in peace✊

Hi! I am a 13-year-old currently studying in the Netherlands. For 5 years, I was studying in London and moved to India for some time in July 2019. First of all, I love playing the western flute and have been playing for quite a few years now. Playing and also, listening to music is definitely my passion. Some sports I enjoy playing are badminton, netball, swimming, football, cricket (these are the top 5!). Ok, so let’s talk about poetry. I wrote my first poem in a primary school in England and this inspired me to start writing poems on WordPress. Some of my recent poems are about global issues such as climate change, depression, bullying etc. Writing poetry is another passion of mine…so, check out my poems on WordPress. I don’t know what else I could say here so, hope you love my poems…..happy reading!!

  1. We talk about racism in the west but forget about our own country. We’re separated by caste and religion here and it’s everywhere, rampant like plague.
I wish we get over our own issues soon.

    Loved the post btw. 🙂
May his soul rest in peace.

    • I wish that too for our country…it would be great if we try to prepare ourselves for ‘the worst’ by taking in what others are experiencing /already have experienced in this world. And thank you, I really appreciate your words🙂

  2. I wish I could have shared one video with you where You can see many Black guys looting stores, ruckus, destroying public property in USA. I totally agree what happened with Floyd was brutal, but burning a country on pretext of this is how much justified when it have more than 100000 dead and about 1200000 affected COVID cases in hospitals. It’s like inviting dooms day to your doors. I find it absolutely senseless, maybe by the end of this year thier death rates and economic crisis is going to climb in such a way that USA won’t be able to recover from that. And all know that such movements are not Freebies, they are all being funded to destabilise the govt. And Americans fools have fallen into that trap.

    • I couldn’t agree with you more. 2020 has been a very very very difficult year for all of us. Personal problems, COVID, Racism, world affairs, politics; these things have changed our lifestyle, mindset and the way we view EVERYTHING. So many families have been hurt by the death of their loved ones, friends or people they know. I hope all this ends soon, the situation in the USA doesn’t get worse. But who are we to say this?

      • We are those, who don’t want to spread that hatred as well as COVID cases in India, because one day or another INT flights are gonna start and in USA Indian population is huge and people will travel to India thereby infecting and again starting the chain. What they are doing is harmful for world also and if they Go into recession same affect will be on us as our exports will suffer a lot and ultimately result will be global recession what happend in 2008.

  3. Can’t express my respect for you, who chooses to write poems about social/global problems and happenings. Writing about such sensitive topics can be hard, due to all the sentiments associated with them… But, you never fail to surprise me with your work. Keep conveying these thoughts and social messages flawlessly through your amazing poems!

  4. Great prose straight from the heart! Discussing racial issues is tricky because it is such a sensitive subject and it is very polarized, still, I decided to write about it and throw my 5 cents into the mix. I wrote an article recently titled “Unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness looking back at history and where it all started Feel free to check it out.
