The 7th Deadly Sin

Pride - Universal Life Church

With a head held high

and a seat next to Satan,

I already know I’m the best

among all creation.

Aided by Pride

I am truly blessed

Pride is not a sin

it gives a chance to embrace the best.

With a mirror as an asset

I dominate the living and the dead

With friends and family who embraced Pride

there is nothing to dread.

I got plenty of gifts today from Pride:

a crown of gold fitting me perfectly

a knife for my mouth to hurt the ones who hurt me

and a throne of high self-esteem which I earned earnestly.

Bow your head to Pride

and you shall reign like me

after all, I am Pride’s favorite

I am offering you a chance to be free.

I really hope you liked this series! This was the last sin in the series and I really enjoyed writing these poems! If you would like to read poems about the other sins, click right here!

Hi! I am a 13-year-old currently studying in the Netherlands. For 5 years, I was studying in London and moved to India for some time in July 2019. First of all, I love playing the western flute and have been playing for quite a few years now. Playing and also, listening to music is definitely my passion. Some sports I enjoy playing are badminton, netball, swimming, football, cricket (these are the top 5!). Ok, so let’s talk about poetry. I wrote my first poem in a primary school in England and this inspired me to start writing poems on WordPress. Some of my recent poems are about global issues such as climate change, depression, bullying etc. Writing poetry is another passion of mine…so, check out my poems on WordPress. I don’t know what else I could say here so, hope you love my poems…..happy reading!!
